Tales of Frankie Past
I spent years as a stage manager and puppeteer in the New York theatre scene, where I also co-wrote the musical Tales from Mother Goose, a show specifically designed to be performed by preschoolers and teach them about the ins and outs of theatre.

Originally from the New York City area, I possess a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Entertainment from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Presently, I operate out of Nashville, Tennessee.

Interviewer: Frankie, thank you for joining us today.

Frankie: Happy to be here. It is my website, after all.

It is, isn't it? So, I'll get right to it. Are screenwriting, puppeteering, and voice acting the only things you do?
​
Not at all. In addition to the aforementioned professions, I have also worked professionally as a clown, a magician, and a Christmas elf, among other things. I also write plays.
​
What got you interested in screenwriting?
​
I grew up inspired by shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Garfield and Friends, and Scooby-Doo! What inspired me the most, however, was Thomas & Friends and VeggieTales. I love the seamless blend of entertainment and education for children. When I write for children, that's something I always strive for. It is my mission to inspire and encourage young girls and boys with each story that I create. I like to write in the preschool, middle grade, and young adult genres.

What made you become a puppeteer? You don't see that everyday.
​
No, indeed. I love the work of Jim Henson. Shocker, right? Henson was a pioneer in the field of puppetry. He told amazing stories and made the inanimate come to life with enough heart and soul to fill the room. It's incredibly inspiring. His son, Brian Henson, is one of my all-time favorite directors. If you could play any character, who would it be?
​
I love that question. There's a few ways I could answer it. On stage, I'd love to do Hamlet in William Shakespeare's Hamlet and Felix Ungar in Neil Simon's The Odd Couple. In animation, I'd love to play Superman or any DC character, really. I'd even venture in front of the camera to play a Power Ranger.
